1. Technology overview
Oriole Networks is a London-based photonic networking company that builds PRISM, an all-optical network fabric for connecting GPUs in AI and high-performance computing data centres. PRISM replaces electrical switching with photonic switching, using network interface cards, an integrated photonic switch and transceiver, and passive photonic routers. A plugin for NCCL/RCCL collective libraries and a PCIe driver are intended to let existing code run unchanged, with incremental expansion starting from a single rack.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- PRISM all-optical network fabric for GPU clusters
- 800 Gbps PCIe network interface cards
- Integrated photonic switch and transceiver (XTR)
- Passive photonic routers with no power or cooling needs
- NCCL/RCCL plugin and PCIe driver for unchanged existing code
One platform connecting startups, corporations, research institutions, regions and investors
