1. Technology overview
AgShift is an AI food-technology company founded in 2016 by Miku Jha in Sunnyvale, California, created to replace manual visual grading of fresh produce with automated, camera-based inspection at packhouses and processing sites.
Its Hydra system captures images of items such as strawberries, almonds and raspberries and uses deep learning trained on millions of images to score size, color, defects and other quality attributes, running as more than 30 installations across multiple commodities for customers including Driscoll’s, Olam and Wish Farms.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
1. Hydra analyzer: Camera-based station scoring produce quality at intake or packing.
2. Deep-learning models: Trained on millions of images per commodity for grading.
3. Multi-commodity coverage: Configured for strawberries, almonds, raspberries and more.
4. Audit trail: Every scan logged for traceability and quality dispute resolution.
5. Throughput gain: Vendor reports faster sampling than manual inspection lines.
6. Facility deployment: Installed at grower, packhouse and processor sites globally.
