1. Technology overview
Holistics is a business intelligence company founded in 2015, spun out of an internal analytics tool built at Viki, a video platform later acquired by Rakuten. The company is based across Singapore and Vietnam and set out to fix a common BI problem: dashboards and AI-generated answers that rely on different, inconsistent metric definitions.
The platform centers on a semantic layer defined once in a modeling language called AML and queried through an analytical query language called AQL, so self-service dashboards, ad hoc exploration and AI-generated answers all read from the same metric definitions. Holistics also supports analytics-as-code with Git version control and embedded analytics for teams that want to expose reports inside their own products. It is self-funded and serves customers in more than 40 countries, from startups to listed companies such as Aurora.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
1. Semantic layer (AML): Defines business metrics once in a modeling language so every report uses the same logic.
2. Analytical Query Language (AQL): Lets analysts query modeled data without repeating SQL joins and calculations.
3. AI Analytics: Answers natural-language questions using the same semantic layer as manual dashboards.
4. Self-service BI: Lets business users explore governed data without writing SQL.
5. Analytics-as-code: Manages models and reports under Git version control like software.
6. Embedded analytics: Lets customers embed Holistics dashboards inside their own products.
One platform connecting startups, corporations, research institutions, regions and investors
