1. Technology overview
V-GREEN Global Charging Station Development JSC is a Hanoi-based company spun off from VinFast's charging station development unit and majority-owned by Vingroup's chairman. It builds and operates EV charging infrastructure and offers a technology platform that connects and manages charging stations owned or hosted by partners, addressing the shortage of charging points as electric cars and motorbikes spread in Vietnam.
The network covers public car charging stations from 11 kW to 150 kW, e-motorbike charging stations and battery-swap cabinets with 6 or 12 slots where a swap takes about 20 seconds. Businesses and landowners can join by leasing a small site to V-GREEN or by investing in a larger franchised site. V-GREEN handles site survey, design and installation, while a central system reconciles usage and revenue automatically and a payment app serves drivers. The company reports more than 155,000 active charging ports.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Public car charging: stations from 11 kW to 150 kW for electric cars.
- Battery-swap cabinets: 6-slot and 12-slot cabinets for e-motorbikes with swaps in about 20 seconds.
- E-motorbike charging stations: charging points for two-wheelers at partner sites.
- Site leasing model: landowners lease a small area for at least 3 years without operating the equipment.
- Franchise model: partners invest in larger high-traffic sites under contracts of at least 5 years.
- Central management system: automatic usage and revenue reconciliation plus a payment app for drivers.
3. Potential application
Retail chains can host battery-swap cabinets at stores to gain foot traffic and rental income. Parking operators, fuel stations and industrial parks can open franchised car charging sites under revenue sharing. Delivery companies can rely on nearby swap cabinets to keep e-motorbike fleets running without building their own depots.
4. Benefits
Site owners can earn monthly revenue share from battery-swap cabinets without investing in the cabinets, under a minimum income commitment stated by V-GREEN. Software reconciles usage and revenue automatically, so partners need no operating staff. Charging points attract EV drivers to shops, parking lots and fuel stations, and V-GREEN provides maintenance, technical and marketing support.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Electric motorbikes and cars are gaining share quickly in Vietnam, and cities such as Ho Chi Minh City plan to phase petrol motorbikes out of app-based transport. Charging and battery-swap infrastructure is a bottleneck, which pushes operators toward asset-light models that use retail, parking and fuel-station sites owned by other businesses.
6. Other information
Headquartered at Symphony office tower, Chu Huy Man street, Hanoi. Spun off from VinFast's charging unit and 90% owned by Pham Nhat Vuong according to November 2024 press. Signed a franchise agreement with Vasia in Bac Ninh in November 2024 and an MOU with KN Holdings in July 2026. Reports presence in more than 5 countries.
