1. Technology overview
eTreego is a Taiwanese EV charging company founded in 2017 as a startup by the electric vehicle core team of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), headquartered in Zhubei, Hsinchu County. It designs and manufactures vehicle-grade charging equipment for two- to eight-wheel vehicles, addressing the need for reliable high-power charging for fleets, commercial venues and homes.
The product range covers PRIME, MAGNUS and IRON DC fast chargers, the BLADE 7 kW AC charger and GEAR-ONE and BUMBLE motorcycle chargers, with commercial solutions from 7 kW AC up to 350 kW DC. A smart management platform adds OCPP compatibility, remote monitoring, load management, EMS integration and smart scheduling for logistics, commuter and shared-mobility fleets, plus payment and membership integration for malls, hotels and parking lots. In January 2025 it signed an MoU to supply charging products to Vietnam's V-GREEN.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- DC fast chargers: PRIME, MAGNUS and IRON series for fleets and public sites up to 350 kW.
- AC charger: BLADE 7 kW unit for homes and workplaces.
- Motorcycle chargers: GEAR-ONE and BUMBLE units for electric two-wheelers.
- Smart management platform: OCPP-compatible remote monitoring and smart scheduling.
- Energy management: load management and integration with EMS platforms.
- Commercial integration: payment, membership and dispatch integration for malls, hotels and parking lots.
3. Potential application
Charging franchisees in Vietnam can deploy DC fast chargers at shopping centres and parking lots. Electric bus and logistics operators can use high-power chargers with scheduling at depots. Motorbike delivery hubs can install two-wheeler chargers managed from the same platform.
4. Benefits
Fleet operators get high-power DC charging with smart scheduling and load management to fit charging windows within site power limits. OCPP compatibility and multi-brand vehicle support let fleets add vehicles from different makers. Commercial venues can integrate payment, membership and dispatch, and built-in overcurrent, overvoltage, leakage and lightning protection supports safe operation.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Charging network operators in Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines are scaling franchised charging portals and need reliable hardware suppliers outside mainland China. Electric bus, logistics and two-wheeler fleets require high-power charging with load management, and OCPP-based equipment lets operators mix hardware and software vendors.
6. Other information
Founded in 2017 by ITRI's EV team; headquartered in Zhubei, Hsinchu County, Taiwan. Products are developed and made in Taiwan and received a Taiwan Excellence Award. Shihlin Electric and Hotai Motor co-invested in 2023 to form the operating subsidiary gochabar. Signed an MoU with V-GREEN in January 2025 targeting a 200-portal pilot in Vietnam.
