1. Technology overview
SP Mobility is the EV charging business of SP Group, Singapore's national grid operator, which began electrifying its own service fleet in 2016. It runs what it describes as Singapore's largest public charging network and its largest fast-charging network, with more than 4,600 charging points at over 1,100 locations across retail, commercial, industrial and residential sites.
For businesses it offers customised charging packages for fleet operators that combine the public network with on-site infrastructure and digital usage tracking, bespoke charger installation and network benefits for automotive brands, and on-site chargers for retail, commercial and residential buildings. Hardware and software are tested for reliability and installations comply with Singapore's TR25 charging standard. Drivers locate, start and pay for sessions through the SP App, and ultra-fast chargers with integrated battery storage have been deployed with Huawei.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Fleet charging packages: public network access combined with on-site infrastructure for fleets.
- Digital usage tracking: fleet managers monitor charging use while drivers charge via the SP App.
- OEM partnerships: bespoke charger installation and network charging benefits for car brands.
- Building chargers: on-site charging for retail, commercial and residential properties.
- Ultra-fast charging: liquid-cooled chargers with integrated battery storage deployed with Huawei.
- Large public network: more than 4,600 points at over 1,100 locations, mostly fast chargers.
3. Potential application
Vietnamese logistics companies operating in Singapore can combine depot and public charging for delivery vans. Developers of commercial buildings can use the building-charger model as a reference for tenant charging in Vietnam. Car brands entering Singapore can bundle charging benefits for buyers.
4. Benefits
Fleet managers can combine on-site depot chargers with access to more than 4,600 public points and track usage digitally. Building owners get on-site chargers that serve tenants, employees and guests and may help retain footfall. Installations follow the TR25 standard, and the operator's grid expertise supports high-power and battery-integrated charging.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Singapore plans to phase in cleaner vehicles and expand public charging, while logistics and ride-hailing fleets with high daily mileage move to EVs. Consolidation among charging operators is creating larger networks, and utilities across Southeast Asia, including in Vietnam, are studying how grid operators can support fleet and building charging.
