1. Technology overview
H3 Zoom is a Singapore company, launched in 2018 out of H3 Dynamics, that builds an inspection intelligence platform for buildings and critical assets. It targets the slow, costly and risky practice of inspecting high-rise facades from gondolas or rope access, and serves facility managers, developers, infrastructure owners, ports and industrial sites.
Facade Inspector takes HD and thermal imagery captured by drones, tethered systems, ground robots or 360 cameras, or uploaded from existing footage, and runs automated diagnostics that detect more than 30 defect types, grade severity and attach a location and confidence score to each finding. Results become elevation-mapped, audit-ready reports, a navigable 3D facade model, costed remediation items and CSV exports for work-order systems. A sister product, Interior Inspector, and a Robotics as a Service capture option extend the same workflow engine.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Flexible capture: drones, tethered systems, ground robots, 360 cameras or uploaded footage.
- Automated defect detection: cracks, spalling, sealant failure, corrosion, water ingress and coating failure among 30+ types.
- Severity grading: each finding carries a severity score, elevation coordinates and confidence value.
- Audit-ready reports: elevation-mapped reports with costed remediation line items.
- 3D facade model and portfolio dashboard: tracks defect trends and remediation status across buildings.
- Exports and custom models: CSV and API exports to work-order, BIM or CMMS systems and tailored enterprise AI models.
3. Potential application
- Property managers of office towers and condominiums in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi running periodic facade condition surveys.
- Developers checking facade quality and snag lists before handover to buyers.
- Industrial park and port operators inspecting warehouses, tanks and structures without scaffolding.
4. Benefits
- Replaces gondolas and rope access in many cases, reducing working-at-height risk for inspectors.
- The vendor reports up to 70% lower inspection costs and up to 90% faster turnaround in selected workflows.
- Standardized severity grading and evidence-linked imagery make reports consistent and easier for engineers to review.
- Sensor-agnostic pipeline avoids hardware lock-in and reuses existing drone or camera footage.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Ageing high-rise stock and stricter building safety rules in Asian cities are increasing demand for periodic facade inspections, while labour for working at height is scarce and costly. Owners are moving to drone capture combined with AI analysis and digital asset records, a shift relevant to the fast-growing high-rise and industrial building base in Vietnamese cities.
