1. Technology overview
Protos Labs is a Singapore company based at JTC Launchpad with a second office in New York, founded by former Booz Allen Hamilton cyber intelligence and OT security operators. It first co-built its technology with defense and homeland security agencies and opened to commercial customers in the fourth quarter of 2025, helping organizations understand which adversaries are likely to target them and how.
Protos AI is an agentic AI platform that runs a four-stage workflow: understand the organization, collect threat data, analyze it and verify through optional hunting. It produces intelligence reports, detection rules, hunt packages, adversary watchlists and fraud investigations. Use cases include pre-attack vulnerability prioritization, software supply chain risk, automated threat hunting, influence operations and financial crime. A proprietary Trust Fabric scores AI outputs for accuracy, reliability, consistency and speed.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Adversary profiling: Maps which threat actors are likely to target the organization and how.
- Detection engineering: Generates detection rules and hunt packages from intelligence.
- Automated threat hunting: Runs retrospective hunts across large log volumes.
- Supply chain risk: Assesses software supply chain exposure before attacks occur.
- Fraud and influence investigations: Supports financial crime and influence operation analysis.
- Trust Fabric: Scores AI outputs on accuracy, reliability, consistency and speed.
3. Potential application
A Vietnamese bank SOC can generate detection rules for APT groups known to target regional financial institutions. A power utility can prioritize OT vulnerabilities based on likely adversaries. A media or telecom company can investigate coordinated fake-account campaigns against its brand.
4. Benefits
Analysts cut threat analysis from about four hours per threat to about 15 minutes, according to the vendor. In one retrospective hunt, about one million log rows were narrowed to a single confirmed incident. An influence operations case reduced 17,000 comments across 6,000 profiles to 11 malicious profiles in 8 hours versus an estimated 48 analyst-hours. Buyers can validate value through a four-week proof of concept built on their own workflows and data.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Security teams in Southeast Asia face more targeted attacks and influence campaigns while analyst capacity remains scarce. Agentic AI that turns raw threat data into detection content and prioritized actions is gaining traction among governments, critical infrastructure operators and banks that run their own SOCs.
6. Other information
Headquartered in Singapore with an office in New York; co-founders Joel Lee (CEO) and Simeon Tan (CTO). Won CSA CyberCall in 2021 and 2026, was Popular Vote winner at Cybersec Asia Business Matching Day in Bangkok in 2025, and is the first Singapore company admitted to Lloyd's Lab. ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified, SOC 2 Type II in progress. Founding year not stated on the website.
