1. Technology overview
Weston Robot is a Singapore robotics company founded in 2019 that integrates, deploys and maintains field robots, from humanoids and quadrupeds to AMRs and unmanned surface vessels, for patrol, inspection, facility management and advanced manufacturing. It reports more than 100 active customers in Asia-Pacific and 99.4% fleet uptime.
Its in-house software has three parts. The Robot Deployment Toolbox turns a 3D scan of a site into a layered navigation map with nodes, routes, no-go zones and floor transitions. The browser-based Robot Management Toolbox plans and dispatches missions, shows live telemetry and camera feeds, allows teleoperation and keeps tamper-proof detection records and audit logs. The Video Analytics Toolbox adds ready detectors for fire, smoke, PPE, fence breaches and fights. The toolboxes run on robot platforms from partners such as Unitree and Kinova.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Deployment Toolbox: map editor that turns a 3D scan into a navigation graph with zones and levels.
- Fleet overview: every site and robot with live status on one dashboard.
- Robot dashboard: map position, telemetry, camera feeds and health for each robot.
- Teleoperation: browser-based driving with e-stop, docking and auto-stop on weak links.
- Mission planning: missions built from waypoints, routes and schedules and reused across sites.
- Video analytics: detectors for fire, smoke, PPE, fence gaps and fights with alerts.
3. Potential application
A power company can use robot dogs managed by the toolbox to inspect substations and record anomalies. An industrial park operator can run night patrols with fence-breach and fire detection. A waste-to-energy or chemical plant can send robots into confined spaces for visual and gas checks.
4. Benefits
Sites are mapped once from a 3D scan and reused across missions, cutting deployment effort. Operators run fleets from a browser with nothing to install, and navigation runs onboard so robots keep working if the link drops. Detection records cannot be edited or deleted, which supports security and compliance audits. Eight video analytics feed alerts straight into the same system.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Low-cost quadrupeds and humanoids are making robotic patrol and inspection affordable, but buyers need software and local integration to turn them into reliable operations. Utilities, industrial plants and estate managers in Southeast Asia are piloting robots for hazardous inspection and security as labour tightens.
6. Other information
Weston Robot Pte Ltd has operated in Singapore since 2019 and is the authorised partner and service centre for Unitree, Kinova and other robot brands in the region; most robot hardware it deploys is third-party, while the toolboxes are in-house. Partners and projects include Keppel Technology Solutions, Siemens and Avnet.
