1. Technology overview
Faclon Labs is an industrial IoT and AI company headquartered in Mumbai and started by IIT Bombay alumni, with a US office in Dublin, California. It helps manufacturers and utilities connect machines and enterprise systems, see production, energy and maintenance data in real time and automate actions on the shop floor. Its customers are mainly large plants in metals, cement, plastics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food, paper and textiles.
The I/O Sense platform collects data through I/O Connect from PLCs, SCADA, meters and sensors over Modbus, OPC, LoRa and HART, normalises tags into a unified namespace and links them with ERP data. Prebuilt apps cover OEE monitoring, energy management, digital logbooks and workflow automation, LIMS, maintenance and vibration monitoring. No-code dashboards, scheduled reports, the I/O Flow workflow builder and the Bruce AI copilot turn data into alerts and decisions.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- I/O Connect: onboards legacy and new assets over Modbus, OPC, LoRa, HART and other protocols.
- Unified namespace: normalises tags from PLCs, SCADA, ERP, APIs and logs into one queryable model.
- Prebuilt apps: OEE monitoring, energy management, steam trap and vibration monitoring.
- Digital logbooks and LIMS: paperless shift records, SPC and laboratory workflows.
- I/O Flow: no-code workflows that trigger alerts, control actions and third-party API calls.
- Bruce AI: conversational copilot and AI-generated summaries in reports.
3. Potential application
A Vietnamese cement or steel plant can connect meters and kilns to track energy use per tonne and forecast demand. A textile dyeing mill can monitor steam traps, utilities and OEE on one dashboard. A plastics extrusion factory can replace paper shift logbooks and trigger maintenance alerts.
4. Benefits
Faclon states a typical payback of under 6 months. Published cases include 94.4% accuracy in energy demand forecasting with US$447K annual savings at a cement producer, 2,000+ meters connected with under one year payback at a pulp and fibre group, and a 15% cut in auxiliary power at a power utility. Paperless logbooks and automated reports reduce manual data entry.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Heavy industries in South and Southeast Asia, such as cement, steel, textiles and paper, face rising energy costs and emission reporting while running many legacy machines. Platforms that combine OEE, energy and maintenance data from old and new equipment give these plants a practical route to IT-OT integration.
6. Other information
Faclon Labs is headquartered in Andheri East, Mumbai, with a US entity in Dublin, California. It was a Vedanta Spark 2.0 cohort winner (2022), a UNIDO-CII pilot funding winner (2021), Elecrama Startup Awards runner-up (2025), a Nine Sigma QRDI project winner (2025) and an ENTICE 2.0 GEAPP grant winner (2025).
