1. Technology overview
Neuron Soundware (NeuronSW SE) is a Czech industrial AI company headquartered at The Forge technology park in Prague. It detects equipment faults by listening to machines, helping maintenance and quality teams move from fixed service schedules to prioritised, condition-based action on engines, compressors, pumps and production lines.
Non-invasive acoustic and vibration sensors (nEdge and nEdge Pro) are attached to existing machines without modification or PLC integration. Edge units learn each asset's healthy sound profile and flag deviations, and the algorithms can also use temperature, pressure and electric current. The nGuard web application presents alerts for single machines, fleets or whole lines. Use cases include process control, machine and energy monitoring, end-of-line quality testing and defence applications. Logos on its site include Siemens, E.ON, Repsol and ABB.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- nEdge sensors: non-invasive acoustic and vibration sensing hardware for existing machines.
- nEdge Pro: IoT edge device that runs AI models locally.
- Self-learning baselines: AI learns each machine's healthy sound and flags deviations.
- Multi-signal analytics: combines sound with temperature, pressure and electric current.
- nGuard application: web dashboard with prioritised alerts for machines, fleets and lines.
- Quality testing: acoustic end-of-line checks for manufactured products.
3. Potential application
An automotive parts plant in Vietnam can monitor presses, compressors and gearboxes by sound to cut breakdowns. An appliance or motor manufacturer can use acoustic end-of-line testing to catch defective units. A power or petrochemical facility can monitor pumps and turbines at the edge without cloud connectivity.
4. Benefits
Neuron Soundware reports a 25% increase in productivity, a 60% reduction in breakdowns and a 35% reduction in maintenance costs for its users. Sensors attach without modifying machines or PLCs and the service can be launched within hours. The same sound-based approach also supports end-of-line quality testing, not only maintenance.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Acoustic AI is gaining ground because sound reveals faults in gears, valves and compressors that are hard to catch with periodic checks, and edge processing avoids sending raw data to the cloud. Electronics, automotive parts and process plants in Vietnam and Southeast Asia increasingly want non-invasive sensing that works on older machines without PLC changes.
6. Other information
Neuron Soundware is headquartered in Prague and backed by Inven Capital, with support from StartupYard, Free Electrons, TACR, EU Horizon Europe and Next Generation EU funding. It lists six industry awards. In September 2025 it was one of five startups selected for the 14th call of Fundación Repsol's Fondo de Emprendedores accelerator, which offers up to EUR 120,000 as a convertible loan and pilots at Repsol plants.
