SenseHawk TaskMapper and Therm Solar O&M Digital Twin

SenseHawk Inc. was incorporated in the United States in June 2018 and is headquartered in Campbell, California, with offices in Bengaluru, Abu Dhabi and Madrid. Majority-backed by Reliance Industries since 2022, it digitises solar and storage projects for owners, IPPs, EPCs and O&M teams that otherwise manage inspections, punch lists and field work through scattered spreadsheets and reports.

TaskMapper is a map-based digital twin covering planning, construction, commissioning and asset management, with forms, workflows and an offline mobile app. For operations, Therm analyses drone infrared scans with AI to detect and classify hotspots, string faults, diode failures and other anomalies mapped to IEC 62446, estimating temperature delta and power loss so issues can be ranked. Findings become field tasks located on GIS maps, while SCADA data is enriched with spatial context and CMMS or ERP systems connect through APIs. NaaviX adds natural-language questions over portfolio data. The platform manages more than 200 GW of solar analytics across 20+ countries.

Solar farm owners could run annual drone thermography and turn each detected hotspot into a tracked work order. EPC contractors building new solar or storage plants could manage construction quality and commissioning in TaskMapper and hand the digital twin to the owner. O&M contractors could use defect histories to support module warranty claims.

Thermal anomalies are ranked by estimated power loss, so crews fix the defects that cost the most first. Technicians are sent to the exact faulty asset with GIS maps that work offline, reducing wasted site visits. Each defect keeps a traceable history with asset-linked evidence that supports warranty claims. One platform covers construction through operations, so handover data from EPCs carries into O&M.

Drone thermography and digital twins are becoming standard tools for large solar O&M as portfolios grow faster than field crews. In Vietnam, utility-scale plants commissioned in 2019 to 2020 are entering a phase of rising module and diode defects, and new solar and storage projects under the revised power development plan need structured handover from EPC to O&M.
