1. Technology overview
VietPOS.AI is the enterprise AI arm of Viet Duc Tri Group, a Da Nang based group that has served more than 5,000 Vietnamese businesses since 2010 across POS hardware, retail software, racking and security systems. It brings AI automation to Vietnamese retailers and chains that still manage sales, stock and shelves manually, with solutions designed for the Vietnamese language and local operations.
The platform combines POS and ERP with more than 35 modules, 47 real-time reports, 3 to 7 day sales and inventory forecasting, proactive AI agents for revenue, inventory, debt and reporting, a Vietnamese chatbot on Telegram and a camera-based self-checkout kiosk that recognises products without barcodes. The Shelf Vision AI module uses IP cameras and an in-store edge AI server to recognise SKUs, count facings, check planograms and read price tags by OCR, sending out-of-stock and misplacement alerts in under 2 minutes.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Shelf Vision AI: Cameras and an edge server recognise SKUs, count facings and compare shelves with planograms.
- Price tag OCR: Detects price tag mismatches and misplaced products with alerts in under 2 minutes.
- Demand forecasting: Forecasts sales and inventory 3 to 7 days ahead.
- Proactive AI agents: Revenue, inventory, debt and report agents send alerts automatically.
- Vision AI kiosk: Self-checkout recognises products by camera without barcodes and can run offline.
- Open API: More than 350 API endpoints and VNPay, MoMo and VietQR payment integration.
3. Potential application
A minimart chain with more than 20 stores can use Shelf Vision AI to detect empty shelves and wrong price tags without daily manual checks. A pharmacy chain can forecast stock needs per store a week ahead. A grocery store can install a barcode-free self-checkout kiosk for fresh produce and bakery items.
4. Benefits
In the Shelf Vision AI pilot across 80 stores, manual stock checking time fell by 40%. Raw images stay in the store because only metadata is sent to the central server, which suits FDI chains with strict data policies. Retailers get POS, ERP, forecasting and AI alerts in one system with Vietnamese language support. A self-hosted option is available for sensitive sectors.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Vietnamese modern retail chains are expanding store counts while facing labour costs and frequent out-of-stocks, which drives interest in computer vision for shelf monitoring. Data localisation expectations and FDI compliance rules favour edge processing that keeps images on site. Small retailers are also moving from basic POS to platforms with forecasting and AI assistants.
