1. Technology overview
Vecmocon Technologies is an Indian deep-tech company incubated at IIT Delhi, headquartered in the NCR region, that builds the electronics and software stack for electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers and smart batteries. It helps EV brands and battery makers deliver safer, connected vehicles without developing battery management and telematics in-house.
Its portfolio includes a chemistry-agnostic battery management system configurable over CAN with UKF-based state-of-charge estimation, AIS156-compliant chargers that can talk to swap station controllers, a Vehicle Intelligence Module with 4G and BLE, remote diagnostics, firmware-over-the-air updates, anti-theft and range prediction via edge machine learning, plus an EV instrument cluster and motor controller. The Battery Buddy desktop and Android apps let engineers monitor battery health and status. Customers are EV and battery OEMs such as BGauss, and swapping-battery providers.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Battery management system: chemistry-agnostic, CAN-configurable BMS with UKF-based SOC estimation.
- Smart charger: AIS156-compliant 1.4 kW charger that can communicate with swap station controllers.
- Vehicle Intelligence Module: 4G and BLE telematics with remote diagnostics and FOTA updates.
- Security and range: patented security protocols, anti-theft, keyless access and edge ML range prediction.
- EV cluster and motor controller: instrument display and drive electronics for two- and three-wheelers.
- Battery Buddy app: Windows and Android tools for real-time battery health monitoring.
3. Potential application
Vietnamese electric motorbike makers can license a ready BMS and telematics module instead of building them in-house. Battery pack assemblers supplying swapping networks can add CAN-configurable BMS and station-aware chargers. Fleet operators can retrofit connected modules for anti-theft and remote battery diagnostics.
4. Benefits
OEMs shorten time-to-market by sourcing a tested BMS, charger, telematics module and cluster from one supplier. Accurate state-of-charge estimation and protection against short circuit, overcurrent, voltage and temperature extremes improve battery safety. Connected modules add remote diagnostics, over-the-air updates and anti-theft, and chargers comply with India's AIS156 battery safety rules.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Stricter battery safety rules after EV fires, the growth of battery swapping and the need for connected features are pushing two- and three-wheeler makers to adopt smarter battery electronics. Southeast Asian electric motorcycle makers face similar demands as local swapping networks expand.
6. Other information
