1. Technology overview
EON Reality was founded in 1999 and has its global headquarters in Irvine, California, with locations in Sweden, Switzerland, Kosovo, Morocco, Kuwait, Seoul and Singapore. It provides augmented and virtual reality knowledge transfer for education and industry and reports 1,000+ institutions, 80+ countries and 136 million downloads.
EON-XR, now delivered as EON XR Infinite, is a cloud platform where educators and trainers build AR and VR lessons without code. They combine 3D models and 360-degree environments from built-in libraries or imported files with annotations, voice-over, text-to-speech, quizzes and recorded interactions. AI features create models from photos, add photorealistic avatars and multi-language narration. Lessons run on phones, tablets, PCs and headsets such as Quest, HoloLens, Magic Leap and Vive, with SSO, progress tracking and LMS or ERP connections. Customers include Nanyang Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Changi Airport.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- No-code lesson builder: annotations, voice-over, text-to-speech, videos, activities and assessments in AR or VR.
- 3D and 360 libraries: eight model libraries plus import tools for dozens of file formats with optimisation.
- AI creation: models generated from pictures, photorealistic avatars and multi-language narration.
- Interaction recording: learners' actions on 3D models are recorded and reviewed with quiz results.
- Multi-device delivery: phones, tablets, PCs, Quest, HoloLens, Magic Leap and Vive headsets.
- Management and integration: SSO, user and schedule management, progress tracking and LMS or ERP connections.
3. Potential application
- Technical colleges in Vietnam creating AR lessons on engines, electrical panels and machinery for students to explore on phones.
- Medical universities teaching anatomy and procedures with 3D and VR lessons.
- Airports and transport operators training staff on equipment and safety procedures with XR modules.
4. Benefits
- Teacher-made XR content: educators build AR and VR lessons themselves instead of commissioning 3D studios.
- Large ready library: eight 3D model libraries, 360-degree environments and a vocational skills library shorten preparation.
- Device-agnostic: the same lesson works on phones, tablets, PCs and major headsets, lowering hardware cost.
- Measurable learning: recorded interactions, quizzes and progress tracking show what each learner has mastered.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Polytechnics and universities across Asia are adding immersive labs to teach technical and medical subjects that are costly or unsafe to practise physically. Generative AI is lowering the cost of 3D content, making teacher-authored XR lessons feasible at scale. Vietnam's digital transformation programme for education and its expanding vocational and health training sectors create demand for affordable, device-agnostic XR authoring tools.
