1. Technology overview
Gausium, founded in 2013 and headquartered in Shanghai, China, develops AI-powered autonomous cleaning robots for commercial facilities. It targets labour shortages and uneven cleaning quality in airports, supermarkets, offices, hospitals and warehouses, and reports more than 6,500 customers in over 70 countries and regions.
The lineup covers Phantas, a compact robot that vacuums, sweeps, scrubs and dust-mops hard floors and low-pile carpet; Omnie, Mira and Marvel sweep-and-scrub machines; the Beetle 2.0 and MAX-SW outdoor sweepers; and PhanShop, which adds in-store promotion and real-time shelf scanning to floor cleaning. Robots combine multi-sensor fusion, 3D perception and deep-learning obstacle detection. Sites are mapped and edited in a mobile app, and optional workstations handle charging, water refill and drainage.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Four cleaning modes: Phantas vacuums, sweeps, scrubs and dust-mops on tile, stone, vinyl, wood, epoxy and low-pile carpet.
- AI obstacle detection: deep-learning perception trained on millions of images avoids static and moving obstacles.
- Spot cleaning: Phantas Extra decides whether to clean or avoid detected debris and stains.
- Self-service workstations: optional docks handle charging, water refill, drainage and squeegee self-cleaning.
- Outdoor sweepers: Beetle 2.0 and MAX-SW use 3D LiDAR and surround vision, with rain monitoring and IP54/IP55 protection.
- PhanShop retail robot: combines floor cleaning with merchandising, sampling and real-time inventory scanning.
3. Potential application
Supermarket and mall operators in Vietnam can run Phantas or Omnie overnight across sales floors. Airports and railway stations can deploy larger scrubbers for terminals with continuous foot traffic. Industrial park managers and factories can use Beetle 2.0 or MAX-SW to sweep roads, yards and parking areas.
4. Benefits
Phantas Extra's spot cleaning mode detects debris and stains and is claimed to raise efficiency by up to 4x. Edge cleaning reaches 0 cm from walls, cutting manual touch-up work. Workstations refill water, drain sewage and recharge without staff, so robots can run unattended shifts. For large outdoor sites, MAX-SW offers a theoretical productivity of 6,480 m2 per hour with autonomous return-to-dump for round-the-clock operation.
5. Market trends & opportunities
IDC data cited by Gausium put 2025 global commercial cleaning robot shipments at 58,000 units, up 83.8%, and market value at US$760 million, up 48.5%. Rising labour costs in facility services and the growth of malls, airports and industrial parks in Vietnam and Southeast Asia are creating demand for autonomous floor care with measurable cleaning data.
6. Other information
Founded in 2013. Headquarters in Minhang, Shanghai, with offices in Hong Kong and Zaltbommel, the Netherlands. Products won the ISSA Innovation Awards 2022 and iF Design Award 2023. Named customers include Heathrow, Singapore Changi Airport, Carrefour, Auchan, Rossmann, DHL and Coca-Cola.
