1. Technology overview
Sorimachi Vietnam was founded in Ho Chi Minh City in October 2006 and has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan's Sorimachi Corporation since 2012. Its AgriTech business applies IT to help agricultural cooperatives, cooperation groups and farmers manage production and finances, and transfers Japanese agricultural technology to Vietnam and ASEAN.
FaceFarm, launched in 2018, is a cloud production diary used on phones, tablets and computers. Users plan seasons, log work on a map of fields, manage fertiliser and pesticides linked to Plant Protection Department data, track labour hours and issue QR codes for traceability. WACA is accounting software for cooperatives, and Hanbai, launched in 2025, handles sales and joint purchasing.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Production planning: season plans that can be reused as diaries in later seasons.
- Map-based logging: work entered on fields and facilities with colour-coded status, cost and yield.
- Input management: fertiliser, materials and pesticides linked to Plant Protection Department data.
- Labour tracking: work time and progress per worker.
- QR traceability: codes assigned per product group for buyers and consumers.
- Cooperative accounting and sales: WACA bookkeeping and Hanbai sales and joint purchasing.
3. Potential application
- Rice cooperatives in the Mekong Delta joining the one million hectare low-emission rice programme.
- Agribusinesses managing raw material zones and contract farmers across several provinces.
- Tea, fruit and vegetable cooperatives building traceable records and accounts for buyers and banks.
4. Benefits
- Replaces paper farm diaries with records that can be exported to Excel in one click for audits and buyers.
- Gives owners of several production units a live view of work, costs and yields across provinces.
- Standardises cooperative bookkeeping, making audits and investor reporting easier.
- Recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture as essential digital transformation tools for the sector.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Vietnam is pushing cooperatives and raw material zones to adopt electronic production diaries, growing area codes and traceability, and Decision 1318/QD-TTg set 2025 targets for cooperatives to operate under the Cooperatives Law and follow VietGAP. Export buyers and low-emission rice programmes also require verifiable field records.
6. Other information
