1. Technology overview
nOps, Inc. is a US-published FinOps platform used by more than 500 brands from startups to enterprises, which it says manage over USD 5 billion in cloud spend through the product. It targets companies that overpay for on-demand cloud capacity and lack visibility into who spends what across cloud and AI services.
The platform has three tiers, Inform, Operate and Optimize. Commitment Management automatically buys and rebalances Savings Plans, Reserved Instances and Committed Use Discounts across AWS, Azure and GCP to maximise the effective savings rate. Cost Allocation splits cloud and AI spend by team, customer, model and feature with forecasting and anomaly detection, while AI cost visibility imports billing from Bedrock, OpenAI, Claude, Cursor and GitHub Copilot. A FinOps AI agent answers cost questions in natural language.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Commitment management: Automates Savings Plans, RIs and CUDs across AWS, Azure and GCP with a rebalancing engine to limit lock-in.
- Cost allocation: Allocates cloud and AI spend by team, customer, model and feature.
- AI cost visibility: Imports billing from Bedrock, OpenAI, Claude, Cursor and GitHub Copilot with token-efficiency recommendations.
- Forecasting and anomalies: Dashboards, budgets, forecasts and anomaly alerts.
- FinOps AI agent: Answers cost questions in natural language.
- AWS MAP support: Helps track AWS Migration Acceleration Program credits.
3. Potential application
A Vietnamese SaaS or game company on AWS can automate Savings Plans purchasing to lower compute costs without a dedicated FinOps engineer. A software outsourcing firm can allocate cloud and AI tool spend per client project for accurate billing. A digital bank can track spending on generative AI tools by department and set per-user limits.
4. Benefits
The vendor states discounts of up to 55% versus on-demand pricing through automated commitment management. Rate optimization is priced as a share of realised savings, so buyers pay only when savings materialise. Onboarding typically takes under five minutes with no infrastructure changes, and a 14-day free trial covers visibility, allocation and reporting. The platform is SOC 2 Type 2 certified and available on AWS Marketplace.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Generative AI has added a fast-growing layer of token and subscription spend on top of traditional cloud bills, and FinOps teams now need one view across both. Savings-based pricing lowers the barrier for mid-sized Southeast Asian companies that run on AWS but lack a dedicated team to manage commitments.
6. Other information
nOps raised a USD 30 million Series A led by Headlight Partners in August 2024. It is an AWS Advanced Technology Partner and FinOps Foundation Premier Member, holds SOC 2 Type 2, and lists Philippine IT firm Stratpoint among its customers.
