1. Technology overview
Pozyx was founded in 2015 as a spin-off from Ghent University and has offices in Ghent, Belgium and Sandy Springs (Atlanta), USA. It addresses a common blind spot in factories and warehouses: not knowing in real time where pallets, tools, forklifts and work in progress are.
The solution combines Ultra-Wideband anchors and tags offering positioning down to about 10 cm, indoor Bluetooth tracking and outdoor GPS trackers with the Pozyx Platform, which provides a location and sensor hub, triggers, dashboards, analytics and open APIs. The RTLS v2025.2 release adds approximate UWB positioning that adapts accuracy to anchor density, a native omlox hub connector and better detection of stationary assets. Customers include DHL, ArcelorMittal, Continental, Thales and Bonduelle across manufacturing, logistics, construction and defense.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- UWB anchors and tags: indoor positioning down to about 10 cm with long tag battery life.
- Approximate UWB positioning: accuracy adapts from 10-30 cm to around 5 m or presence detection depending on anchor density.
- Multi-technology tracking: UWB, Bluetooth indoors and GPS outdoors in one platform.
- Location and sensor hub: triggers, dashboards and analytics on top of location events.
- omlox hub connector: one system can span multiple buildings, floors and vendors.
- Open APIs: location data streams into enterprise applications such as WMS or MES.
3. Potential application
An electronics plant in Bac Ninh can track work-in-progress trolleys between lines to find bottlenecks. A third-party logistics warehouse can locate pallets and forklifts in real time to cut search time. A steel or heavy equipment yard can combine UWB zones indoors with GPS trackers outdoors.
4. Benefits
Pozyx cites a typical return on investment within about 10 months. Dense UWB zones reach 10 to 30 cm accuracy while low-density zones still give roughly 5 m positioning, so buyers can match infrastructure cost to each area. The platform has more than 200,000 tags operational in over 250 deployments, and omlox support avoids lock-in to a single location vendor.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Manufacturers and logistics operators are moving from barcode scans to continuous location data to support lean flows, just-in-time sequencing and forklift safety. Open standards such as omlox are making multi-vendor RTLS easier to deploy. In Vietnam and Southeast Asia, the growth of FDI electronics, automotive and logistics hubs increases demand for traceable intralogistics.
6. Other information
Pozyx was founded in 2015 as a Ghent University spin-off, with offices in Ghent, Belgium and Atlanta, USA. It reports 4,000+ kits sold, clients in more than 80 countries and recognition including the Gartner Magic Quadrant for indoor location services, IoT World Awards and Deloitte Fast 50.
