1. Technology overview
MEZOO is a Korean digital healthcare company specialising in wearable-based ambulatory remote patient monitoring (aRPM). Its technology began in 2007 with four biomedical engineering PhD researchers from Yonsei University, and the business was incorporated and commercialised in 2018. It is headquartered in Wonju, Gangwon-do, with a Seoul office, and aims to replace bedside cables and intermittent checks with continuous monitoring inside and outside the hospital.
The HiCardi system combines a chest-worn SmartPatch, a gateway and the SmartView and LiveStudio monitoring web viewers. HiCardi+ records ECG, heart rate, arrhythmia, respiration and apnoea, posture and fall events for up to 72 hours, the H100 works as a Holter monitor, the HiCardi M300 adds 6-channel ECG, and the new M350 integrates ECG, respiration, temperature and SpO2 in one patch. Hospitals use it for smart wards and long-term ECG diagnosis.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- HiCardi+ patient monitor: records ECG, heart rate, arrhythmia, respiration, apnoea and fall events for up to 72 hours.
- HiCardi+ H100 Holter: long-term ECG recording for diagnostic interpretation in an 18 g IP67 patch.
- HiCardi M300: 6-channel ECG and respiration monitoring with built-in defibrillation protection.
- HiCardi M350: multiparameter patch combining multichannel ECG, respiration, body temperature and chest-based SpO2.
- SmartView and LiveStudio: web viewers for central real-time monitoring and event notification.
- Gateway connectivity: links patches to hospital monitoring for smart ward deployments.
3. Potential application
Vietnamese hospitals building smart wards could fit HiCardi patches to cardiology and post-surgical patients for central wireless monitoring. Cardiology clinics could use the H100 as a lightweight Holter for 72-hour arrhythmia testing. Shipping companies and offshore operators could explore the wearable maritime health monitoring concept for crew.
4. Benefits
Frees patients from bedside cables while staff monitor ECG and respiration in real time with alarms for dangerous conditions. One 18 g patch serves as both patient monitor and Holter recorder, reducing separate equipment. The new M350 measures SpO2 from the chest without a finger sensor, giving four vital signs in a single patch. Adoption is proven at scale: the company reports use in hundreds of Korean hospitals including Samsung Medical Center, Asan Medical Center and Severance Hospital, and Q2 2026 revenue up 104%.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Hospitals are moving from wired bedside monitors to wireless wearable patches to support smart wards, nurse workload reduction and early warning of deterioration. Asia-Pacific demand is rising as ageing populations increase cardiac and respiratory admissions, and the HiCardi supply agreement for six Asia-Pacific countries shows regional distribution is expanding.
6. Other information
Founded as a corporation in 2018 from research started in 2007 at Yonsei University; head office and factory in Wonju, Gangwon-do.
