1. Technology overview
cosinuss° is a Munich-based developer of in-ear sensors and software for mobile vital signs monitoring, led by CEOs Dr. Johannes Kreuzer and Greta Kreuzer. It addresses the difficulty of continuously monitoring patients in emergency response, transport, remote areas and at home, where conventional cabled monitors are impractical. In June 2025 it joined forces with German emergency medical equipment maker GS Elektromedizinische Geräte (corpuls).
The system covers four layers: an 8.6 g medically certified in-ear sensor measuring core body temperature, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation and breathing rate; gateway minicomputers or smartphones for transmission; the corpuls auryx App (formerly cosinuss° Health) for data access; and algorithms for analysis. Mobile, stand-alone offline network and remote patient monitoring configurations are offered, and components can be integrated into third-party systems via REST API and SDK. Users include emergency services, rescue teams, hospitals and research institutions.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- In-ear sensor: 8.6 g medically certified sensor for core body temperature, heart rate, SpO2 and breathing rate.
- Gateway options: stationary, mobile or smartphone-based data transmission.
- corpuls auryx App: Class IIb software with alarm function for secure access to patient data.
- Stand-alone network: monitors several patients in a defined area autonomously without internet.
- Remote patient monitoring: continuous recording of vital signs for patients at home.
- Developer SDK and REST API: raw data access and hardware integration into third-party products.
3. Potential application
Provincial emergency centres in Vietnam could use the in-ear sensor to monitor patients during ambulance transfers. Disaster response and search-and-rescue teams could deploy the offline stand-alone network at flood or collapse sites. Hospitals could pilot remote monitoring of febrile or post-discharge patients at home.
4. Benefits
An 8.6 g in-ear sensor replaces several cabled probes, so responders can monitor patients in confined, remote or moving settings. The stand-alone mode monitors several patients in one area without an internet connection, suiting disaster and mass-casualty response. Upgrading to a Class IIb device with alarm function extends use to clinical monitoring, backed by the corpuls emergency care sales network. Open interfaces let integrators embed the sensors into existing systems or headsets.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Emergency medical services, disaster response and hospital-at-home programmes need lightweight, wireless monitoring that works outside hospital infrastructure. In Vietnam and Southeast Asia, frequent floods, typhoons and long patient transfers between provincial and central hospitals increase demand for portable monitoring that functions without reliable connectivity.
6. Other information
Cosinuss GmbH is registered in Munich (HRB 194436) at Kistlerhofstrasse 60. It has distributed its in-ear monitoring solutions since 2023 and merged with corpuls (GS Elektromedizinische Geräte GmbH) in June 2025. Certified to EN ISO 13485:2016 and EU MDR by TÜV SÜD; servers located in Germany. Products are not for sale in the US market.
