eKMap GIS and GeoAI Platform for Smart Cities

eKGIS JSC (eK Geographic Information Technology) is a Hanoi-based company with an office in Ho Chi Minh City and more than 20 years of experience in GIS. Its gServer GIS software, first released in 2010, was rebuilt and renamed eKMap in 2021 to help provinces, utilities and businesses manage spatial data and infrastructure assets on accurate digital maps.

The eKMap Platform provides a provincial or city-level digital map platform with map, place, geocoding, routing, asset, site, area and land-parcel APIs plus web and mobile SDKs for e-government, smart city and IOC applications. The eKMap software suite (Server, Editor, Survey, Portal) supports OGC, Mapbox Vector Tiles and Esri open APIs, while eKMap Solutions offers sector SaaS for water supply, urban lighting, trees, sanitation, industrial parks, road maintenance and commune-level government. GeoAI services add satellite monitoring and asset inventory.

A provincial department can deploy a shared digital map with APIs feeding its IOC and public service apps. A water company can map its pipe network, zone districts and track losses. An industrial park operator can manage roads, drainage, lighting and tenant plots on one GIS.

Provinces own a dedicated map platform deployed in their data center, giving stable long-term use for all local systems. Utilities centralise network data; Vinh Phuc clean water reports cutting water loss by 12% versus the previous year after adopting eKMap. Open standards let the platform replace ArcGIS or GeoServer, and SaaS or on-premise options fit different budgets.

Vietnam is building shared provincial databases, digital government and smart city operations centres, and the two-level local government reform increases demand for ward and commune digital maps. Utilities are under pressure to reduce non-revenue water and digitise asset maintenance, which requires accurate GIS foundations.
