Bacte Active Biological Crop Protection

Bacte is the crop protection brand of Tip To Ma Lai International Trading and Services Co., Ltd., a Ho Chi Minh City company established in 2012 and led by agricultural engineer Ho Phuc Nguyen. It develops biological products that control nematodes, root rot and fungal diseases in fruit and industrial crops without chemical residues, using production know-how transferred from a research project of the Western Highlands Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute.

The Bacte Active range combines antagonistic microorganisms with an extract of Tra My cinnamon bark; Bacte Ngu Sac, for example, contains 16% cinnamon bark extract (cinnamyl acetate) and 1% chitosan. Promax lines target gummosis and nematodes, anthracnose and pink disease, powdery and downy mildew, and fruit flies, and are sprayed or applied through drip irrigation. The company also sells organic, NPK and foliar fertilizers under the BACTE and TIPTO brands through growers and distribution partners.

Root diseases such as Phytophthora gummosis and nematodes remain a major cause of tree decline in the Central Highlands and Mekong Delta.
