1. Technology overview
REshare is a Ho Chi Minh City company (REshare Joint Stock Company, registered on 8 September 2022) whose idea started in 2020 to extend the life of clothing and reduce textile waste. It describes itself as the largest clothing collection, circularity and recycling unit in Vietnam, serving organisations, fashion brands and textile manufacturers that need a responsible outlet for used garments, unsold stock and production waste.
REshare collects on site, hand-sorts items, resells or donates wearable clothing and turns the rest into patchwork products, decorative bricks, recycled fibre and yarn, or alternative fuel. Its fibre process removes zippers, buttons and labels, lightly mists fabric with anti-static spray and shreds it with a proprietary formula. A technology platform covers collection routing and bag tracking, secondhand inventory, ESG reporting on recycling and CO2, and a digital product passport for each item.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- On-site collection: pick-up of post-consumer, unsold and production textile waste from businesses, brands and factories.
- Sorting and reuse: hand sorting, cleaning and resale or donation of wearable garments.
- Fibre recycling: trims removed, anti-static misting and proprietary shredding into fibre for yarn or fabric.
- Upcycled products: patchwork bags, upholstery and decorative bricks made from offcuts.
- Co-processing: non-recyclable textiles sent to INSEE Ecocycle as alternative fuel and raw material.
- Tech platform: route and bag tracking, inventory, ESG reporting and digital product passports.
3. Potential application
Garment and textile factories can contract REshare to take production offcuts and receive ESG data for buyer audits. Fashion retailers can run in-store or office take-back stations, as MWG did at its headquarters. Companies can recycle old corporate uniforms instead of discarding them and report the CO2 impact.
4. Benefits
Brands and factories get one partner to handle used clothing, unsold stock and production waste, avoiding landfill or open burning. Collection tracking and ESG reports quantify tonnes recycled and CO2 avoided for sustainability reporting. REshare reports more than 467 tonnes reused or recycled and 335 tonnes of CO2 reduced in 2025, and non-recyclable fractions go to INSEE Ecocycle cement kilns for co-processing.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Vietnam's garment industry generates large volumes of offcuts and unsold stock, much of which is downcycled, landfilled or burned. Extended producer responsibility rules, export brands' take-back commitments and EU digital product passport plans push companies to prove where textile waste goes. Local circular service providers with traceable data help Vietnamese firms meet these requirements.
