Devolutions Inc. was founded in 2010 by David Hervieux and is based in Lavaltrie, Quebec, Canada. Devolutions PAM is a module that runs inside Remote Desktop Manager, the self-hosted Devolutions Server or the managed Devolutions Cloud. It discovers privileged accounts in Active Directory, Entra ID, SSH, SQL Server and local Windows, scores their risk from 1 to 10, rotates passwords and propagates changes to dependent services, and releases credentials through approval workflows with MFA and ticket numbers. Just-in-time elevation, live session monitoring and recording, and Devolutions Gateway for VPN-less access complete the stack. Connectors also work alongside CyberArk, Delinea, BeyondTrust and One Identity vaults.

The vendor states PAM can be live in hours rather than weeks. Teams already using Remote Desktop Manager add PAM without a new tool, and a Starter Pack offers the full suite at half price for teams of up to five users. Automatic rotation and checkout approvals remove shared, static admin passwords. Self-hosted or cloud options let companies keep credentials on premises when required.

Devolutions' own 2025 IT security report found manual PAM practices undermining SMB defenses, and attackers increasingly target shared admin passwords and remote access tools. In Vietnam and Southeast Asia, many SMEs and MSPs manage servers with spreadsheets or shared accounts, creating demand for affordable PAM that fits existing remote administration workflows.
