1. Technology overview
Droniq GmbH is a joint venture founded in 2019 and headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, owned by DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung (51%) and Deutsche Telekom (49%). It supplies software, detection technology and services so that organisations can fly drones safely in shared low-altitude airspace.
The core offer is a UAS traffic management system (UTMpro and UTMagent annual licences) that shows a live air picture, flight routes and real-time monitoring in U-space. Related products are MyZone Suite for low-altitude airspace, TraX for flight planning and air picture, Fleetplan for fleet management and drone detection. Customers listed include fire brigades, police, Mainova and Evonik.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- UTM licences: UTMpro and UTMagent give a live air picture, flight routes and real-time monitoring in U-space.
- TraX app: flight planning and air picture for remote pilots, in Basic, Plus, Pro and Enterprise tiers.
- MyZone Suite: platform for low-altitude airspace, with MyZone Detection software for drone detection.
- Air traffic data: inputs from ADS-B, FLARM, Direct Remote ID and Mode-S/TCAS.
- Interfaces: edp:map and CommandX air situation interfaces sold as annual subscriptions.
- Fleetplan: fleet management for drone operations.
3. Potential application
A Vietnamese power utility can plan and monitor line-inspection drone flights with a shared air picture. A port or industrial park can combine UTM with drone detection to protect restricted areas. Emergency agencies can coordinate drone missions near airports.
4. Benefits
Operators see manned and unmanned traffic in one live air picture before and during missions. Annual licences allow budgeting per user or per unit. Support for permit applications such as SORA and ConOps reduces approval effort, and a generic approval covers DJI Dock 3 missions.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Drone use by utilities, emergency services and critical infrastructure operators is moving from trials to routine beyond-visual-line-of-sight work, which creates demand for traffic management and detection. In Vietnam and Southeast Asia, growing drone programmes in power, telecom and public safety face the same need for airspace awareness.
