i-nav Voyage Optimisation and Compliance

Infoplaza is a weather and data services company whose privacy statement names Infoplaza BV and refers to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. In September 2025 it launched i-nav, a platform that combines voyage optimisation, automated vessel reporting and regulatory compliance for shipping operators.

The routing core is the TVOS multi-objective genetic algorithm developed by Theyr with The Alan Turing Institute and the University of Southampton. It evaluates routes against fuel use, CO2, just-in-time arrival, safety and charter party terms, using vessel performance models and Infoplaza's blended weather forecasts updated four times a day.

Vietnamese bulk and container shipowners trading to Europe can plan routes that balance fuel cost and EU ETS exposure. Charterers can monitor speed and fuel warranties. Ship managers can automate noon reports from high-frequency onboard data.

Operators choose from trade-off routes based on current business priorities, supporting fuel savings and lower CO2. Automated event-based reporting reduces manual noon reports. Post-voyage analytics compare actual performance against charter party terms to support claims or disputes.

CII ratings, EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime push shipowners to manage emissions per voyage. Vietnamese and Southeast Asian operators trading to Europe face the same carbon costs and need voyage-level fuel and emissions data.
