1. Technology overview
NAONWORKS Co., Ltd. was established in July 2007 and is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. It became part of the AhnLab group in July 2021 and focuses on cyber-physical system (CPS) and operational technology security for factories, energy and public infrastructure.
CEREBRO-XTD is a passive OT visibility and threat detection product. Sensors installed per process analyze mirrored network traffic and send results to a central server, which runs anomaly and statistical analysis and sets detection policies. It combines asset and topology mapping, deep packet inspection of OT protocols and malware or harmful-traffic detection without touching the production network.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- OT visibility: IT and OT asset information, network sessions and a topology map.
- Threat detection: malicious code detection with a vaccine engine, plus weaknesses and scanning traffic.
- OT protocol inspection: deep packet inspection and control logic anomaly detection.
- Anomaly detection: unauthorized assets, networks and control command problems.
- Distributed architecture: per-process sensors with a central management server for policies.
- SOC integration: SIEM and security portal connection with syslog event transmission.
3. Potential application
A manufacturing plant in Vietnam could mirror traffic from its production-line switches to build an asset inventory and detect unauthorized devices. A power or water utility could add anomaly detection on SCADA networks and forward alerts to its SOC.
4. Benefits
Monitors asset and security status without affecting ICS operations. Passive deployment avoids availability concerns in production. Gives security teams a topology map of IT and OT assets and sessions. Forwards events to SIEM and SOC tools through syslog.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Manufacturers and utilities are connecting production lines to IT networks, which raises demand for passive OT asset discovery and anomaly detection. In Vietnam and Southeast Asia, factories owned by Korean and other foreign investors increasingly face customer and regulatory pressure to monitor OT networks.
6. Other information
Founded July 2007, Seoul. Part of AhnLab since July 2021. ISO 27001 (2025-06). CEREBRO-XTD released 2023 and GS grade 1 certified. Partners include Moxa (MOU 2020) and Intel (MOU 2021). CEREBRO-Edge V1.0 launched 2024-10.
