Origin Tech Ltd was founded in 2019 by Phil Surtees and John Marsden and is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. It develops technology to reduce water waste, mainly for water companies, and in January 2026 took a multi-million-pound investment from the British Growth Fund to support product development and overseas expansion.

Origin Orbit combines satellite data with proprietary AI to identify location-specific points of interest, shown on a client portal dashboard. Field engineers attend only the flagged points.
