1. Technology overview
Quantified Energy is a Singapore company founded in 2021 as a spin-off from the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore at the National University of Singapore. It inspects and analyzes solar power plants to find defective modules that limit string output.
Its patented Autonomous Drone EL Mapping captures electroluminescence images of PV modules in the field, with AI-powered analytics, a digital twin platform and a customer dashboard. The payload attaches to DJI M300/M350 drones and is sold pay-per-use. Deployments are reported across Asia, Europe, Oceania and the Middle East, with Ingeteam named as a partner.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Autonomous drone EL mapping: lab-quality electroluminescence imaging of modules in the field.
- AI-powered analytics: defect detection from EL images.
- Digital twin platform: centralized view of solar assets.
- Customer dashboard: access to inspection results.
- DJI payload: attaches to M300/M350 drones with pay-per-use access.
- Lifecycle solutions: commissioning checks, performance optimization and due diligence.
3. Potential application
Defect inspection of utility-scale solar farms in Vietnam before warranty expiry. Technical due diligence for investors buying operating solar plants. Commissioning checks on new rooftop and ground-mount projects.
4. Benefits
Earlier defect detection lowers maintenance costs and downtime. Documentation supports warranty and insurance claims. Inspection results support technical due diligence for ownership changes and refinancing. Pay-per-use drone payload lets partners add EL inspection to existing drone fleets.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Solar fleets are aging and owners need module-level evidence of defects to protect yield, warranties and financing. Vietnam has many utility-scale and rooftop plants built since 2019, which creates demand for efficient inspection and performance diagnostics.
