Zipline AI Feature Platform

Zipline AI, LLC is an ML infrastructure company co-founded by Varant Zanoyan (CEO) and Nikhil Simha (CTO), who created the open-source Chronon feature platform while at Airbnb. It addresses the slow, error-prone work of building feature pipelines for production models, and raised a $7 million seed round in August 2025.

Engineers or coding agents write features in Python; Zipline computes historical values without future data leakage and generates the production pipelines, including Flink streaming jobs, backfills and online store updates. Each experiment runs on an isolated branch, and data, code and metadata stay in the customer cloud account. Named customers include Stripe, Credit Karma and Whatnot.

The site states that recomputing only changed pipeline parts cuts experiment time and cost by 10x. Customers reportedly cut infrastructure costs 4 to 7 times. Data stays in the customer cloud account, and performance claims include under 10 ms P95 serving latency.

Teams increasingly let coding agents iterate on ML models, which requires fast and safe feature backtesting. Vietnamese banks, e-wallets and e-commerce platforms running fraud and recommendation models face the same feature pipeline bottleneck.
