FoxBot ATL Autonomous Trailer Loader and Unloader

Fox Robotics Inc. was founded in 2017 and is based in Austin, Texas. It focuses on autonomous pallet transport at the warehouse loading dock, using the FoxBot ATL, an autonomous forklift for trailer loading and unloading.

The FoxBot ATL installs in about an hour, unloads a trailer in 45 minutes or less, and needs no IT or WMS integration. It uses 360-degree monitoring, safety-certified sensors and proprietary AI-based perception and planning, and is described as running around the clock. The site lists 120 ATLs in the fleet across 55 production sites and 7 million pallets picked.

The company claims up to 40% labor cost savings, and one operator can manage 6 or more FoxBots. With several ATLs, one operator can unload 20 to 100 trailers per shift. Installation takes about one hour without WMS integration, and the electric drive replaces propane.

Loading docks are a labor-intensive bottleneck in distribution centers, and autonomous forklifts that need little integration are gaining interest. Vietnam's growing cold chain, retail and export logistics hubs face similar dock labor and throughput pressure.
