1. Technology overview
Eureka Robotics is a Singapore company founded in 2018 that draws on robotics and AI research from NTU Singapore, MIT and the University of Tokyo, with offices in Atlanta, Tokyo and Hanoi. It makes industrial robots able to pick cluttered, shiny or overlapping parts from bins, a task that still needs manual labour in many factories.
The AI Vision System combines the Eureka 3D Camera (stereo capture of reflective and dark parts), the Eureka Controller (an industrial PC running pre-trained AI models locally) and StereoPick software. Engineers select the robot, upload CAD files, set pick points, simulate the cell, train on synthetic images and calibrate, without coding. It works with FANUC, ABB, Universal Robots, AUBO and YASKAWA arms and other robots via an open API.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Eureka 3D Camera: stereo 3D capture of cluttered bins, including reflective and dark parts.
- Eureka Controller: industrial PC that runs AI models locally on the shop floor.
- StereoPick wizard: six-step setup from robot selection to calibration without coding.
- AI CAD matching: detects parts and refines their pose with CAD data.
- Cell simulation: validates a cell design and pick success before buying hardware.
- Open robot support: native support for major robot brands plus an open API.
3. Potential application
A Vietnamese automotive parts supplier can automate CNC machine tending from bulk bins. An electronics plant can pick connectors from a moving conveyor and insert them. A metal stamping or casting factory can feed shiny parts into the next process without manual sorting.
4. Benefits
Eureka reports more than 30 million operations and up to 99.5% picking accuracy. A new part needs only 0 to 10 real images because training uses images rendered from CAD. Setup time is cut from weeks to hours, and everything runs locally with no cloud connection, so CAD files and images stay on site.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Machine tending and parts feeding are among the last manual tasks on many production lines, and labour shortages in Japan and rising wages in Southeast Asia make them harder to staff. 3D vision with AI pose estimation lets factories automate these tasks without custom fixtures for each part.
6. Other information
Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Singapore, with offices in Atlanta, Tokyo and Hanoi. Airbus Ventures invested in December 2024. In 2026 AIOI SYSTEMS made it a standard vision solution, Subaru adopted the system and it partnered with Shelley Automation for North America. Customers include Pratt & Whitney, Toyota and Denso.
