1. Technology overview
RIGOL Technologies is a Chinese maker of general-purpose electronic measurement instruments. It started in 1998 when three college students founded the RIGOL Studio in Beijing, and today it operates a headquarters in Suzhou, R&D centres in Beijing, Shanghai and Xi'an, and a Malaysia R&D and manufacturing base opened in 2024. The company is listed on the Shanghai STAR Market (688337.SH) and, since July 2026, on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
The portfolio covers oscilloscopes, waveform generators, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, RF signal generators, DC power supplies, DC electronic loads, multimeters, data acquisition, modular instruments and probes. The MHO900 series adds 12-bit resolution, 4 GSa/s sampling, 500 Mpts memory, 16 digital channels and built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for remote control. RIGOL packages these into solutions for communication, automotive electronics and power electronics testing, serving new energy, semiconductor, education and general electronics customers.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- MHO900 oscilloscopes: 12-bit, 4 GSa/s, 500 Mpts memory and 16 digital channels as standard.
- Built-in signal source: optional dual-channel generator with sine output up to 100 MHz.
- Bode plot analysis: built-in loop response testing for power supply stability.
- RF and microwave: RSA6000 real-time spectrum analyzer and DNA5000/6000 vector network analyzers.
- Power testing: DC power supplies and DL3000 electronic loads, including the 450 W DL3041.
- Application solutions: test packages for communication, automotive electronics and power electronics.
3. Potential application
An EMS plant in Vietnam can equip production test lines with networked oscilloscopes and electronic loads. A power electronics or EV charger maker can validate converter efficiency and loop stability. Universities and vocational schools can standardise electronics labs on one affordable instrument family.
4. Benefits
A single vendor covers most bench instruments, from oscilloscopes and generators to power supplies, loads and network analyzers. The 12-bit ADC in the MHO900 gives 16 times the detail of traditional 8-bit instruments. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth allow unattended automated testing and long-distance monitoring. Authorised distributors in Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia provide local sales and support.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Electronics, EV power and semiconductor back-end investment is shifting into Southeast Asia, and Vietnam is a major destination for EMS and design centres. These sites need affordable, high-resolution instruments that can be networked for automated testing, and buyers increasingly weigh price-performance and local distributor support alongside brand.
6. Other information
Founded in 1998 in Beijing; headquarters in Suzhou. Subsidiaries in the US (2009), Europe (2011) and Japan (2015); Malaysia R&D and manufacturing base opened in 2024; completed full acquisition of Naishu Electronics in 2024. Listed on the SSE STAR Market in 2022 and on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 9 July 2026. Vietnamese distributors include PiTek, EMIN Vietnam, Nihon Denkei Vietnam and DBM.
