Mayekawa Natural Refrigerant Industrial Heat Pumps

Mayekawa (MYCOM) is a Japanese industrial refrigeration and compression maker trusted since 1924, serving food, beverage, logistics, oil and gas, chemical and HVAC users through a network across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. It has built heat pumps for large air conditioning since 1971 and runs a subsidiary in Vietnam with offices in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Can Tho.

Its heat pump line uses natural refrigerants. unimo CO2 heat pumps supply hot water up to 90 C at about 77 to 92 kW, with versions that deliver hot and chilled water at once. Ecosirocco is a CO2 heat pump air heater that supplies hot air up to 120 C for drying while producing chilled water. Plus+HEAT ammonia heat pumps provide 85 C hot water at about 487 kW, standalone or as heat recovery on existing refrigeration plants, and separate heat pumps cover 100 to 3,000 kW of air conditioning with simultaneous heat recovery.

Seafood processors in the Mekong Delta could recover heat from ammonia refrigeration to supply sanitation hot water. Dairy and beverage plants could use CO2 heat pumps for hot and chilled water at the same time. Food dryers could replace oil-fired hot air generators with CO2 heat pump air heaters.

Food and beverage plants can produce hot water or hot air and chilled water from one machine, using heat that would otherwise be rejected by refrigeration systems. Natural refrigerants such as CO2 and ammonia avoid the phase-down risk of high-GWP synthetic refrigerants. Buyers in Vietnam get local sales, spare parts and support from Mayekawa Vietnam offices in three cities.

Food processors need both cooling and process heat, and heat pumps that recover refrigeration heat are a direct way to cut boiler fuel and emissions. Vietnam's seafood, dairy, beverage and meat processing sectors operate large cold chains and cleaning hot water systems, while the Kigali Amendment phase-down favours natural refrigerants.

Mayekawa Mfg. Co., Ltd. traces its MYCOM business to 1924 and marked its 100th anniversary in May 2024. It operates subsidiaries across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific, including Mayekawa Vietnam Company Limited with offices in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Can Tho serving soft drinks, breweries, seafood, meat and dairy plants. In April 2025 it showcased a CO2 heat pump at China Refrigeration Expo in Shanghai.
