Diehl Metering IZAR LoRaWAN Water Metering

Diehl Metering is a metrology and IoT solutions business within the Diehl Group, and its pages carry the legal entity name Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG. It supplies water meters and smart metering infrastructure to utilities.

The HYDRUS 2.0 ultrasonic water meter (R800 accuracy) gained LoRaWAN connectivity in May 2024 with two-way communication. Combined with IZAR meter data management software or other MDM software, utilities can configure meters remotely, reset alarms and synchronize clocks. The ALTAIR V5 volumetric meter takes a clip-on radio module for mobile or remote reading.

Real-time data access and easier leak detection with LoRaWAN-enabled ultrasonic meters. Two-way communication simplifies network management through remote configuration, alarm reset and clock synchronization. ALTAIR V5 is 30 to 60 percent lighter than the previous generation depending on variant, and uses partly bio-sourced materials.

Water utilities are replacing mechanical meters with ultrasonic and smart meters that report leaks and consumption remotely, and LoRaWAN is a common low-power link for the data. Vietnamese water companies facing high non-revenue water can use similar fixed-network reading on bulk and residential meters.
