1. Technology overview
AgriPass Robotics is an Israeli agricultural robotics and Physical AI company founded in 2023. It builds machines for adaptive field work, with the aim of replacing chemical herbicides and scarce manual labor in weed control for vegetable growers.
Its first commercial product, RHIC (Robot of Human-Inspired Cultivation), is an autonomous weeder that uses computer vision and adaptive actuation. Its Adaptive Selective Tilling approach learns the field, decides how to treat each weed and acts, building a 3D field model in real time without field mapping. Deployments are reported in the US and Europe.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Adaptive weeding: decides plant by plant and adjusts uprooting depth.
- Real-time 3D field model: needs no field mapping or pre-programming.
- Multi-crop use: adapts to different crops, row spacings and field layouts.
- Crop safety: targets the root while keeping surrounding crops undisturbed.
- Field-trained AI: the model improves from deployments on working farms.
3. Potential application
Vegetable and organic farms in Vietnam could trial robotic weeding to replace hand weeding in row crops. Cooperatives growing high-value produce for export could use it to cut herbicide use. Agricultural machinery distributors could assess it as a service offering.
4. Benefits
Removes weeds mechanically at the root without chemicals. Vendor figures claim 80-85% weed removal efficiency, 70% less soil disruption and typical ROI within 1-2 seasons. One RHIC with one operator is said to do the work of up to 20 skilled workers.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Herbicide resistance, regulatory pressure on chemicals and farm labor shortages are pushing growers toward mechanical and robotic weeding. In Vietnam and Southeast Asia, rising labor costs in vegetable and high-value crops create similar demand for weeding automation.
6. Other information
Israeli company founded in 2023. Closed a $7.5 million seed round in March 2026. Won first place at the Climate Solutions Prize 2025 in October 2025. Partners include FYELD, EIT Food and the NVIDIA Inception Program.
