AITRICS-VC (VitalCare) Patient Deterioration AI

AITRICS is a medical AI company headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, that sells clinical decision-support software to hospitals. It describes its aim as giving clinicians better workflows to save patients' lives, and it publishes research on deterioration and sepsis prediction.

Its main product, AITRICS-VC (VitalCare), analyses real-time electronic medical record data accumulated in the hospital and uses AI to predict deterioration of a patient's condition. Trade press reported in November 2024 that it uses 19 types of EMR data from general-ward patients, is used in more than 60 Korean hospitals and is integrated into the ezCaretech EHR system.

Large private and public hospitals in Vietnam can run it on inpatient wards to prioritise rounds by nurses and doctors. Intensive care units can use risk alerts to plan transfers. Hospital groups with an EMR can pilot sepsis screening in emergency and ward settings.

Hospitals can detect deteriorating ward patients earlier from data they already hold in the EMR. Trade press reported predictions of death, ICU transfer and cardiac arrest within six hours and sepsis within four hours. The product holds medical device approval in Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia, which reduces regulatory effort for buyers in those markets.

Hospitals in Southeast Asia are digitising records and looking for AI early-warning tools that use existing EMR data to reduce avoidable ICU transfers and deaths. Vietnamese hospitals adopting electronic medical records create the data foundation these tools need.
