1. Technology overview
AltoTech Global is a Bangkok-based building technology company led by CEO Warodom Khamphanchai. It builds an AI and IoT platform that cuts energy use in commercial buildings across Asia-Pacific, with locations in Thailand, Hong Kong and Singapore, and has signed MOUs with Thailand's DEPA and PEA.
Alto CERO autonomously tunes HVAC systems: the air-side product optimizes split-type and VRF units based on occupancy and conditions, while the water-side product optimizes chiller plants in large buildings, using an on-site Alto CERO Box. Companion modules include Alto Digital Twin for spatial monitoring, Alto Multi-Property for portfolio control, a sustainability visitor dashboard and Alto ACE, an AI assistant that gives facility teams HVAC expertise and continuous monitoring. Customers include hotels, offices, malls and convention centers such as JW Marriott Bangkok, BITEC and BHIRAJ Tower.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Alto CERO Air-Side: Optimizes split-type and VRF systems by occupancy and conditions.
- Alto CERO Water-Side: Optimizes chiller plant operation in large buildings.
- Alto Digital Twin: Builds spatial replicas for monitoring and maintenance.
- Alto Multi-Property: Tracks and controls energy across a portfolio of sites.
- Alto ACE: Acts as an AI chief engineer giving HVAC guidance and continuous monitoring.
- Sustainability dashboard: Displays building health and carbon metrics to visitors in real time.
3. Potential application
A 5-star hotel in Da Nang can optimize VRF and chiller operation by room occupancy to cut electricity costs. A convention center in Ho Chi Minh City can track event carbon footprints in real time. A bank with many branches can monitor and control air conditioning across its network from one dashboard.
4. Benefits
AltoTech reports a cumulative 14.67 GWh of energy reduction and 7.33 million kgCO2e avoided across 108 commissioned properties covering 6.12 million m2. Autonomous HVAC tuning lowers electricity bills without replacing existing equipment. Real-time carbon dashboards help venues and hotels report Scope 1–3 emissions and support carbon-neutral events.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Air conditioning dominates electricity use in tropical Southeast Asian buildings, and owners face rising tariffs, net-zero targets and EU-linked anti-greenwashing rules for hospitality. Retrofitting AI control onto existing HVAC is a faster path to savings than replacing equipment, which suits Vietnam's large stock of offices, hotels and malls.
