1. Technology overview
BASiC Semiconductor Co., Ltd., founded in 2016 and headquartered in Shenzhen, China, researches, develops, manufactures and sells silicon carbide (SiC) power devices. It covers the chain from chip design and wafer manufacturing to module packaging and driver ICs, serving makers of electric vehicles, chargers, renewable energy and industrial power equipment.
Its portfolio includes SiC Schottky diodes, discrete SiC MOSFETs including AEC-Q101 automotive parts, industrial full-SiC modules such as 62 mm 1200 V half-bridge and ED3 modules, and automotive Pcore modules for traction inverters. Pcore 1 TPAK single-switch modules (1200 V/250 A, 750 V/300 A) use pressure-assisted silver sintering on Si3N4 AMB substrates, while Pcore 6 HPD modules cover 750 V and 1200 V classes. It also supplies isolated gate drivers such as the BTD25350, power management ICs, bare die and wafer services.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- SiC discretes: Schottky diodes and SiC MOSFETs, including 1200 V automotive parts.
- Industrial modules: 62 mm half-bridge (1200 V, up to 840 A), ED3, E1B and E2B full-SiC modules.
- Automotive modules: Pcore 1 TPAK and Pcore 6 HPD modules for traction inverters.
- Packaging: pressure-assisted silver sintering on Si3N4 AMB ceramic substrates.
- Gate drivers: isolated dual-channel driver ICs such as the BTD25350 series.
- Die and wafer services: bare die and wafer supply for module makers.
3. Potential application
A Vietnamese EV or electric bus maker can use Pcore automotive modules in traction inverters. A charging station manufacturer can build 1200 V DC fast chargers with industrial SiC modules. A solar inverter or energy storage assembler can switch from silicon IGBTs to SiC MOSFETs to raise efficiency.
4. Benefits
Buyers can source SiC diodes, MOSFETs, modules and matching gate drivers from one supplier, which simplifies qualification. Automotive MOSFETs meet AEC-Q101 and PPAP requirements for EV programmes. Silver-sintered Pcore modules on Si3N4 substrates lower thermal resistance for compact traction inverters. In-house wafer and module manufacturing bases support volume supply.
5. Market trends & opportunities
SiC is becoming standard in 800 V EV platforms, fast DC chargers, solar inverters and energy storage, and Chinese suppliers are scaling capacity and lowering cost. Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, is attracting EV, charger and inverter assembly that needs reliable SiC supply close to regional factories.
6. Other information
Founded in 2016, headquartered in Nanshan District, Shenzhen. Listed on the HKEX Main Board under Chapter 18C on 8 July 2026 (9971.HK), offering 27.4 million H shares at HK$31.62 for about HK$866 million. Won Top Domestic SiC Module Enterprise in September 2025 and showed new modules at PCIM Asia 2025 and 2026. Signed a strategic cooperation with UBTech in August 2026.
