1. Technology overview
Carbonstop (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 2011 by Yan Luhui and is one of China's earliest carbon management software and consulting firms. It helps companies measure, reduce, offset and disclose emissions and reports serving more than 1,500 enterprises and institutions, including over 150 Fortune 500 companies.
Its Ccloud platform is a one-stop carbon management system covering organisational carbon inventories, product carbon footprints, supply chain carbon management, reduction management and carbon accounts, plus online submission to partner certification bodies. A built-in Carbon AI Agent based on large language models answers policy questions, parses documents, builds product footprint models aligned with ISO 14067 and PAS 2050 using the CCDB database of over 300,000 emission factors, checks calculation logic and drafts CDP and ESG reports. It is offered as SaaS, customised software or private deployment.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Organisational inventory: corporate carbon accounting across sites and emission sources.
- Product footprint: AI-built models aligned with ISO 14067 and PAS 2050.
- Supply chain carbon: a module for managing supplier emissions data.
- CCDB factor database: more than 300,000 emission factors with industry benchmarks.
- Carbon AI Agent: policy Q&A, document parsing, logic checks and reduction pathway simulation.
- Disclosure and certification: drafts CDP and ESG reports and routes certification requests to partner bodies.
3. Potential application
A Chinese-invested electronics or textile factory in Vietnam can calculate product carbon footprints in the same system used by its parent group. A steel or aluminium exporter can build product models to support CBAM reporting. A consumer brand can prepare CDP responses and ESG report drafts with the AI agent.
4. Benefits
The AI agent builds product footprint models from product information and flags unit errors, scope gaps and inconsistencies, reducing reliance on scarce LCA specialists. A factor library of over 300,000 entries covers Chinese and international supply chains. Companies that need data to stay on their own servers can choose private deployment, and certification requests are handled inside the same workflow.
5. Market trends & opportunities
China's national carbon market is expanding to more sectors and EU CBAM now applies to exports of steel, aluminium and other goods, so manufacturers need product-level data. Many Chinese-invested factories in Vietnam operate inside Chinese supply chains and face the same footprint and CBAM requests from parent companies and buyers.
6. Other information
Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Daxing District, Beijing. Raised a RMB 50 million Series A in 2021 with Hillhouse and Matrix Partners China, and a Series B of over RMB 100 million led by Sequoia China in August 2022. Ccloud passed SGS verification and was showcased at COP30. Clients include Tencent, Xiaomi, Amazon, Microsoft, Starbucks, adidas and Lenovo.
