1. Technology overview
Cavli Wireless is a cellular IoT module maker founded in 2017, headquartered in San Jose, California, with its R&D and manufacturing base in Kochi, India and a sales office in Barcelona. It designs LTE, LPWA and 5G modules with built-in eSIM so device makers can ship connected products that work across many countries.
Cavli Hubble is the cloud platform that sits behind these modules. It lets device makers configure and monitor more than 40 modem parameters, run scheduled firmware updates over the air, provision eSIM profiles remotely and manage data plans from one dashboard. A Cloud Connect messaging layer routes modem data to customer clouds through prebuilt connectors and a web service API. Through Hubble, customers access local LPWAN, LTE and 5G networks from more than 60 operators. Target sectors include utilities, automotive and micromobility, healthcare, Industry 4.0, smart city and logistics.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Device monitoring: central dashboard for device health with access to more than 40 modem parameters.
- Firmware updates over the air: secure, scheduled FOTA and DFOTA plus AT command updates.
- eSIM management: remote eSIM profile provisioning and dynamic network selection.
- Global connectivity: access to local NB-IoT, LTE-M, LTE and 5G networks from more than 60 operators.
- Cloud Connect: messaging layer that routes modem data to customer clouds and supports cloud-to-cloud streaming.
- Developer tools: web service API, Hubble SDK, Hubble IDE and user-defined apps.
3. Potential application
A Vietnamese electronics or EV maker can embed Cavli modules in trackers, chargers or e-scooters and manage them remotely after export. A utility can roll out NB-IoT or LTE-M smart meters with remote firmware updates. A logistics company can deploy cellular asset trackers across several ASEAN countries on one eSIM.
4. Benefits
Device makers get one vendor for the cellular module, the eSIM and the management cloud, which shortens integration work. Remote diagnostics and firmware updates over the air reduce field visits for deployed devices. Remote eSIM provisioning lets one hardware SKU be sold in many markets without swapping SIM cards. Pre-set, custom and usage-based data plans fit both pilots and large rollouts.
5. Market trends & opportunities
The shutdown of 2G and 3G networks and the arrival of LTE Cat 1bis and 5G RedCap are pushing device makers to redesign connected products. eSIM and remote provisioning are becoming standard so that one device can be sold across regions. Southeast Asia's electronics manufacturing base, including Vietnam, is producing more connected meters, trackers and EV components that need certified modules and fleet management.
6. Other information
Founded in 2017 by John Mathew, Ajit Thomas, Tarun Thomas George and Akhil A Zeeb. Raised a 10 million USD Series A in July 2023 led by Chiratae Ventures with Qualcomm Ventures. The company reported an operational footprint in the US, India, Spain, Vietnam, the UK, France, Italy, Turkey and Germany, and manufactures IoT modules in India.
