1. Technology overview
Coursebox is an Australian company founded in August 2021 by Travis Clapp and Alex Hey, with its team working out of Perth. It addresses the time and cost of producing training courses, which traditionally take instructional designers weeks.
The platform generates a full course from a prompt or uploaded PDF, Word or PowerPoint files, including quizzes with AI grading, branching scenarios, AI presenter videos with 500+ avatars and voiceovers in 100+ languages, and images. Each learner gets an AI tutor, and courses are delivered and tracked in the built-in AI LMS or exported via SCORM and LTI to Moodle, Canvas, Cornerstone or TalentLMS. AI runs on Microsoft Azure OpenAI without training public models on customer content.
