1. Technology overview
EVAR is a South Korean EV charging infrastructure company based in Pangyo Techno Valley, Seongnam. It designs and manufactures chargers in its own factory, provides 24/7 after-sales service and is registered as a charging operator with the Korean environment ministry. The company reports more than 50,000 units sold, over 100 client companies and partner logos including Samsung, BYD, Hyundai, DHL, Shinsegae and GS Chargev.
Its latest product, ACE PRO MAX, is a 7 kW (11 kW option) AC charger that learns each user's departure pattern from plug-out times and slows charging as the battery nears full, so the car reaches 100% just before departure with less time at high charge. It adds departure-time sharing between neighbours, wider high-current traces and flame-retardant housing for fire safety, a radar sensor that wakes the display, NFC and QR authentication and OCPP 1.6 connectivity. The range also includes the DURA fast charger up to 200 kW.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- AI departure learning: adjusts charging speed so the battery reaches 100% just before the expected departure.
- Battery management: full 7 kW at low charge, tapering as the battery nears full.
- Departure sharing: residents can share expected departure times with neighbours waiting to charge.
- Fire safety: 1.6 times wider high-current traces and flame-retardant plastic housing.
- Smart interface: radar wake-up, circular display, NFC and QR authentication, Wi-Fi, LAN and optional LTE.
- Product range: 7 kW AC models and the DURA fast charger up to 200 kW.
3. Potential application
Apartment developers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City can install AI slow chargers in basement car parks with fire-safety design and fair sharing between residents. Office buildings can offer workplace charging that finishes before employees leave. Logistics and retail operators can combine slow chargers with DURA fast chargers at depots and stores.
4. Benefits
Apartment and building managers get chargers designed for shared parking, where departure-time sharing helps residents rotate use of a limited number of points. Battery-aware AI charging reduces time spent at high state of charge, which the company links to less battery wear. Fire-safety design suits underground car parks, and standby power of 2.8 W is stated to be 44% below the Korean evaluation benchmark.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Most EV charging happens at home and work, and in dense Asian cities that means shared apartment car parks with limited points and growing concern about fires in underground parking. Building owners are looking for slow chargers with safety features, battery-aware charging and fair sharing among residents, a need also rising in Vietnam's high-rise urban areas.
6. Other information
Headquartered in Pangyo, Seongnam, South Korea, led by CEO Lee Hoon. Won the eco-tech category top award at the 2025 Electronic Times Climate Tech Awards and the 2026 Climate Energy Innovation Award. Claims slow-charger market share leadership in Korea for 2022 to 2024.
