1. Technology overview

Aegis Software was incorporated in Pennsylvania, United States, in 1996 and began operations in 1997 with CAD/CAM tools for electronics manufacturers. It has operated in Southern China since 2006 and entered the MES market in 2001. The company addresses the need for a single production record across design, materials, quality and labor in electronics factories.

FactoryLogix is a modular manufacturing execution platform covering digital manufacturing engineering, process execution, quality management (QMS), lean materials management, advanced planning and scheduling, connectivity and IIoT, and manufacturing intelligence. It keeps one record that traces each unit's design revision, material lots and workers. The company states that more than 2,200 factories in over 22 countries use it, including Celestica and BAE Systems.

2. Highlighted features & specifications

  • Manufacturing process execution: guides operators with digital work instructions and enforces process steps on the line.
  • Quality management: nonconformance handling with cost parameters and threshold approval workflows.
  • Lean materials management: tracks material lots and kitting across the factory.
  • Connectivity and IIoT: connects machines, with native IPC-CFX support since 2019.
  • Advanced planning and scheduling: balances equipment, materials and resources across lines.
  • Enterprise integration: connects to existing ERP and PLM systems.

3. Potential application

EMS and PCBA plants in Vietnam can use it for SMT line traceability and material control for export customers. Factories serving automotive or medical clients can use the QMS and compliance modules to support audits against standards such as ISO 13485.

4. Benefits

Single production record gives forward and backward traceability for each unit, from design revision to material lots and operators. An embedded QMS links nonconformances to production data. A case study on the vendor site reports a 30% drop in assembly rework time and a 5% drop in defective parts per million at Sparton (vendor-reported). Modules can be adopted from one line to multi-site operations.

6. Other information

Peak Rock Capital affiliate completed the acquisition of Aegis in 2025-08. Aegis acquired Simio (simulation and scheduling) in 2026-01 and launched FactoryLogix WebOps in 2026. Operates in Southern China since 2006; Aegis Europe since 2002. Named a representative vendor in the Gartner Market Guide for MES in 2026-05.
