1. Technology overview
FreightAmigo was founded in 2017 and launched its platform in 2018, with a regional presence in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Singapore. It targets manufacturers, traders and e-commerce sellers that must deal separately with freight forwarders, insurers and banks when shipping internationally.
The AI platform combines instant quotes and booking for air, sea, rail, courier and trucking with track and trace, customs clearance, duty and tax calculators, sailing schedules, PO-to-POD management and carbon offsets. Trade modules add cargo insurance, export credit insurance with HKECIC, digital trade financing and a Ship Now, Pay Later receivables product developed with HSBC. E-commerce sellers connect through a Shopify app, WooCommerce plugin, Amazon FBA service and custom API. Customers range from SMEs to enterprises and individuals.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Instant Quote and booking: rates for air, sea, rail, courier and trucking in one search.
- Track & Trace: shipment status across modes from purchase order to proof of delivery.
- Customs and duty tools: customs clearance, import duty and duties and taxes calculators.
- Trade management: cargo insurance, export credit insurance and digital trade financing.
- E-commerce connectors: Shopify app, WooCommerce plugin, Amazon FBA and custom API.
- AmiGo Green: carbon offset option for shipments.
3. Potential application
- A Vietnamese Shopify seller can book courier and air shipments and track them from the store back office.
- An SME exporter can insure cargo and finance receivables on the same platform used to book freight.
- A trading company can compare sea and air options with landed cost estimates before quoting buyers.
4. Benefits
- One platform covers quoting, booking, tracking and customs across air, sea, rail, courier and trucking to 250+ countries.
- Cargo and export credit insurance can be bought alongside the shipment instead of through separate brokers.
- Ship Now, Pay Later and digital trade financing ease working capital for SME shippers.
- Duty calculators and sailing schedules help shippers estimate landed cost and timing before booking.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Embedded finance is moving into logistics as banks and platforms link shipment data with credit and insurance for SME exporters. In Asia, cross-border e-commerce sellers want a single digital channel for freight, customs and payment, which also fits Vietnamese SMEs shipping to many markets.
