1. Technology overview
GEA is a systems supplier for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany and founded in 1881. Its release states more than 18,000 employees and about EUR 5.5 billion in sales for fiscal 2025.
The MultiJector 500 is a brine injector for small- to mid-capacity marination lines handling ham, deli meats, bacon, poultry and fish. It uses 2 mm or 4 mm OptiFlex needles, a modular injector filter and a revised drive concept for better brine distribution, and replaces earlier 450 mm-width models. It was announced on 21 April 2026 ahead of interpack 2026.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- OptiFlex needles: 2 mm or 4 mm options for different products and process goals.
- Modular injector filter: includes a ScreenFilter module for poultry on 2 mm setups.
- Revised drive concept: improved brine distribution.
- Tool-free belt removal: cleaning time under 10 minutes.
- Quick changeover: fast switching between product types and needle block exchange.
- Patented needle block system: durable needles for marination lines.
3. Potential application
Poultry plants can inject brine into breast meat for retail and food service products. Pangasius and other fish processors can marinate fillets with fine needles. Ham and bacon producers can run lower-sodium formulations with consistent brine distribution.
4. Benefits
GEA says an eight-hour shift without filter cleaning or needle replacement can save one to two hours of lost production. Better brine retention and less drip loss are claimed, with reduced water, brine and waste. Tool-free belt removal cuts cleaning time to under 10 minutes. Fast switching between products suits mixed production.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Processors of bacon, poultry and fish face demand for lower-sodium formulations, lower drip loss and shorter cleaning downtime. Vietnamese poultry, pork and fish processors serving retail and export can adopt similar marination equipment, and GEA exhibited at ProPak Asia 2026 in Bangkok.
6. Other information
GEA is headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany, was founded in 1881 and is listed on the DAX. The MultiJector 500 was announced on 21 April 2026 for interpack 2026 (Düsseldorf, 7-13 May 2026, Hall 6, booth C27). GEA also lists a booth at ProPak Asia 2026 (Hall 3, C3-AQ42).
