1. Technology overview
HealthBeats is a Singapore-based remote patient monitoring company led by CEO Aileen Lai, with programmes in Singapore and Australia. It helps hospitals, primary care networks and community care organisations follow patients at home between visits, keeping a single patient record as care needs and providers change.
Patients take clinician-scheduled measurements with regulatory-approved connected devices, such as blood pressure, SpO2, glucose, temperature and weight, guided step by step in a smartphone app that also works offline. Clinicians review results and trends, receive alerts on deteriorating readings, chat with patients through Care Chat and triage workload in a workflow module. Users include Australian health services and Singapore community care providers.
2. Highlighted features & specifications
- Scheduled vitals: clinicians set measurement schedules and patients follow step-by-step guides.
- Connected devices: regulatory-approved devices track blood pressure, SpO2, glucose, temperature and weight.
- Offline Mode: measurements and real-time alerts work without internet and sync later.
- Care Chat: real-time messaging between patients and their care team.
- Clinician review: results and trends support proactive management and alerts on deterioration.
- Workflow management: triage patients and allocate resources across the care team.
3. Potential application
Vietnamese hospitals could follow heart failure or hypertension patients after discharge to cut readmissions. Family medicine clinic chains could run home blood pressure and glucose programmes for chronic patients. Elderly care and social welfare organisations could monitor seniors living alone and escalate to clinicians when readings deteriorate.
4. Benefits
Lets care teams manage chronic and post-discharge patients at home instead of relying on clinic visits. Offline Mode keeps measurements and alerts working in areas with poor connectivity, syncing when the connection returns. Workflow triage helps clinicians allocate attention to the patients who need it most. Supports multiple device brands rather than locking providers into one vendor.
5. Market trends & opportunities
Ageing populations in Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam are increasing the burden of hypertension, diabetes and heart failure, while governments push care from hospitals into communities and homes. Remote monitoring platforms that work with affordable consumer-grade medical devices and patchy connectivity fit these community care programmes.
6. Other information
