IGL Ecocoat Graphene Ceramic Coatings

IGL Coatings, operated by Ominent Sdn Bhd, is a Malaysian manufacturing-technology company in Shah Alam, Selangor, led by CEO Keong Chun Chieh. It develops nanotechnology-based ceramic coatings with low to zero VOC content to replace hazardous solvent-based formulations in automotive, marine and industrial surface protection, and sells in more than 50 countries.

Its Ecocoat range includes Ecocoat Kenzo, a 10H graphene-reinforced ceramic coating, and Ecocoat Arcane, which uses the Graphene Infinite additive co-developed with PETRONAS to improve cross-linking, water repellency and resistance to chemicals, UV and oxidation. The industrial line, IGL Aegis, uses graphene nano anti-corrosion technology to protect machinery, trucks, equipment and infrastructure, and a low-VOC marine coating protects vessel surfaces. Logistics fleets and ports can apply anti-corrosion coatings to trucks, cranes and steel equipment exposed to salt air. Boat builders and marine operators can use low-VOC marine coatings for hull and deck protection.

Low to zero VOC formulations reduce worker exposure and help meet EU REACH requirements, with zero use of 172 banned hazardous substances. Arcane provides up to 4 years of protection in a single layer with a water contact angle above 110 degrees, according to the company. Graphene-based anti-corrosion coatings protect industrial equipment and infrastructure in harsh environments. An installer certification and distributor model supports rollout in new markets.
