Infinna Circular Textile Fiber

Infinited Fiber Company is a Finnish textile fibre company headquartered in Espoo, Finland, with pilot lines in Espoo at VTT Bioruukki and in Valkeakoski. It addresses the growing volume of worn-out cotton textiles that are landfilled or burned by turning them into a new, virgin-quality fibre called Infinna.

The process sorts and shreds cotton-rich textile waste, separates cellulose from polyester and dyes, activates the cellulose with urea into a stable cellulose carbamate powder, then dissolves and wet-spins it into staple fibre that looks and feels like cotton. Feedstock can be any colour and contain synthetics if about 88% is cotton. The technology has three modules that suit new builds or retrofits of pulp or viscose lines, and is offered to fibre producers through licensing. Brands such as Patagonia and JACK & JONES have used Infinna.

Vietnamese fibre or viscose producers could license the carbamate technology to retrofit existing lines and serve export brands with circular fibre. Garment groups with large volumes of cotton cutting waste could become feedstock suppliers to a regional Infinna plant. Spinners and denim mills in Vietnam could blend Infinna into yarns for brands requiring recycled cotton-like fibres.

Infinna turns textile waste of any colour into virgin-quality fibre, so brands can make 100% circular garments or blends without a visible quality loss. The carbamate route uses ZDHC and MRSL compliant chemistry and needs no carbon disulfide, unlike conventional viscose. Licensees get a turnkey factory concept with know-how, blueprints and engineering partners, and can retrofit existing pulp or viscose lines instead of building from scratch.

EU rules on separate textile waste collection and recycled content are pushing brands to secure fibre made from post-consumer textiles. Asian garment hubs generate large volumes of cotton-rich cutting waste, and Infinited Fiber is assessing major textile ecosystems such as India, Bangladesh and China for production, signalling a shift of circular fibre capacity toward Asian supply chains that also include Vietnam.

Headquartered at Tekniikantie 14, Espoo, Finland, with pilot facilities in Espoo and Valkeakoski. Sahil Kaushik became CEO in January 2026. Plans a 200 t/a Circular Fiber Center before a 30,000 t/a commercial plant; the Kemi plant environmental permit reached the appeal phase in March 2026.
